Dillon Color: Brindle A couple of months in foster has changed Dillon into a totally different dog. Dillon is now friendly and outgoing, playful with other greyhounds and calm around small children. Rookie Color: Red Brindle Rookie is an ~2.5 Y/O male. Likes a good romp, a bit excitable but very loving. In a discipline situation Rookie is very submissive, so when its time to do a behavior correction a gentle one is the best way to go. Very involved with you, he will greet you whenever you come by him. When relaxing he lays on his soft bed and likes a chew bone. Rookie is not good with cats and will likely not be good with small dogs (<40#). In a multi dog situation I would muzzle him when unsupervised. He is not aggressive, but excitable, and the muzzle seems to really calm him down. He is used to wearing one from the racing environment and it doesn't bother him in the slightest. As he gets older and less prone to the excitement I think the muzzle will eventually not be necessary. He has used the dog door, does not mark and is very good at going outdoors when a trip is necessary. He responds to his name and is pretty good on a leash. He likes a car ride, behaves in the pet store and is generally very quiet. Update - Rookie exhibited a high dislike for new years fireworks. I decided to crate him for New Year's eve so in his nervous pacing he didn't hurt himself. As soon as he saw the crate, he immediately went in. And this is now where he likes to spend a lot of indoor time. Its a 'safe' place, and he seems less excitable. So to any potential adopters, Rookie is happiest with access to a crate. Bogie Color: Fawn Bogie is an over the top affection hound! He loves his people and will follow you everywhere (hint: close the bathroom door). He does like to play and gets very excited when you first come home so beware of his uncontrollable flying limbs. He also is a little mouthy when he gets excited, but does not ever hurt you. Basically he just likes to put your hand or arm or foot in his mouth. Because he gets so excited, he may not be the best dog for a family with small children. He has had no accidents in my house and uses the doggie door. Bogie loves going on his morning walks and has been learning better manners as far as being pushy and taking treats. He would most likely be best in a home with one or two other dogs and is also good with cats. I have had many laughs having Bogie in my home for the last couple of weeks and his eyes will melt your heart. Racing data for Atomic Sandman |

Ben Color: Brindle Ben may be a little older but he is a pup at heart. He thinks dog beds are big stuffie toys and I often find he has moved one or more out to the yard. He likes to move things around the house (remotes and other things not tied down) - the other day I looked up to see him tiptoeing out the door with my camera bag. He's learning that human food is not his and will go lie down when told to. He loves going for walks and is very affectionate. He is dog door trained and will jump in the car for a ride. Chevy Color: Black Chevy is every inch a two year old. She is affectionate and very playful. A little more energetic than most greys, she is always up for a good time. If no one wants to play with her she will run around the yard or play with the toys on her own. She would be good with an active family. Not good with cats or small dogs. She is dog door trained. Tilly Color: Black Tiliy is an elegant yet playful girl. She gives me a quick muzzle when I wake up. Loves to go walking and plays well with the other greyhounds. Miley Color: Black Miley is a sweet girl who follows us around the house and likes to stay close by. She enjoys a bath, she LOVES to be petted, and she's nonplussed by the kid chaos in our home. Miley is calm and quiet, but she can occasionally be a tenacious player. Little kids should not play running/catching games unless she's muzzled. [She latched on to our 9-yr old's arm and didn't let go. It was through his shirt, so there was no puncture, but it did scrape and bruise and give him a good scare. It was all in good fun for her, but not so much for him.] She doesn't yet seem too enthusiastic about walks, but nevertheless she might catch you off guard and try to chase a plastic bag in the breeze or even some birds that fly by. If she walks for too long, it's challenging to keep her going to get back home. Miley is a persistent pursuer of food opportunities and is not easily dissuaded from the table, trash, and counter. We are working on improving those manners. She's had open access to the outside, and we haven't had any potty accidents. She hasn't minded not having a crate; she's happy with a cozy corner in the kids' room at night, and during the day she enjoys any room that has a kind two-legged friend in it. Lance Color: Fawn Lance is a mellow, sweet grey, who is reserved in new situations. He uses the dog door without fail and likes to put his head on your shoulder while you are driving. Lance gets along well with the other dogs in our home and is small dog tolerant. Racing data for CDC Lance |

Kenny Color: Red Kenny is an 4 Y/O male. Likes a good romp, a bit excitable but very loving and personable. Likes to play kissy face. Kenny has not tested well with cats. He has been fine with small dogs. He talks a bit to the other dogs in the form of snarks and growls, but has not caused any problems. AQs soon as the other dogs got used to this they mostly ignore him. Because of this and to prevent any problems I muzzle Kenny when he is unsupervised, but to date he has never started any fights. So its strictly precautionary. He has used the dog door, does not mark and is very good at going outdoors when a trip is necessary. He responds to his name and is pretty good on a leash. Dom Color: Brindle Dominator is a 7 Y/O male. He has a very playful demeanor and gets along with everybody. He is quick to like strangers, enjoys being loved on and listens pretty well. He will come when called (usually) and rides well in the car. He is also quiet and quite relaxed, and rarely if ever barks. He will wait quietly outdoors under a shady tree to be let back in. He is not cat safe but has been fine around small dogs. Indoors he does not mark, and is very good at waiting until he is let out to do his business. He has used a dog door without a problem. Ral Color: Brindle This boy is a super sweet gentleman who will charm you with his good manners and gentle nature. He is quiet, doesn't get on the furniture or counter surf and just likes to bury his head against you for a good scratch. He came from Oklahoma with a fuzzy coat and still hasn't lost it. Ladies, he is tall, dark and handsome! He will lay several feet from whatever room you are in and follow you everywhere. He knows the dog door and does stairs, is good on the leash and has no bad habits. He plays with the stuffies a little but does not get wild or crazy. He seems very healthy and happy and whenever you walk by he will "ask" you for a belly rub. He may good as a single dog or with others not too small. Gunnar Color: Brindle Gunnar is 20 months old and full of life. Like any toddler he is curious about everything and the way to sample things is with his mouth. He is initially a little shy but is affectionate when he feels comfortable. He is currently learning leash manners. He gets along well with the other hounds. He has yet to be tested with small dogs or cats. He may be a bit exuberant for very small children but would like the energy of children large enough that he wouldn't accidentally knock over. Shyne Color: Brindle Shyne is a timid girl who likes to be wherever you are. She can be very shy with people but will warm up to you when she feels safe. She is good on walks, likes to play fetch (but doesn't like to give the ball up) and will amuse herself with stuffed toys and have a great time. She is dog door trained and doesn't have any accidents in the house. She doesn't have a prey drive, has a great appetite and most of the time sleeps on her back with her legs straight up in the air. This sensitive girl will need a confident human who will also be patient and gentle with her. If harsh tones or corrections are used she can become paralyzed with fear.She is very sweet, submissive and affectionate with humans and would make a great companion, but she must be an only dog because she is dominant, possessive and territorial with other dogs.
