Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Before My New Addition Can Come Home?
The whole adoption process generally takes 1-2 weeks. It will depend how long your dog has been in foster care and whether or not it has been spayed/neutered yet.

How Much Will It Cost?
The cost to adopt a Greyhound is $200. This covers their spay/neuter, shots, teeth cleaning, microchip, and a martingale style leash specially designed for Greyhounds.

What Will I Need at My House to Accommodate a Greyhound?
Besides quality food and water, we just suggest a comfy dog bed and soft, fabric-covered squeak toys. Greyhounds are notorious for their laziness, so if you don't have a fenced-in yard, your dog can still be happy as long as you take them for walks or for an occasional trip to the dog park.

We recommend purchasing a muzzle for $15, especially if your dog will be starting out around other pets. We also recommend purchasing a crate for your dog, as this will be their special place until they adjust. If you cannot afford to buy a crate, we can loan one to you for the first few weeks.

Special Needs Dogs
Watch for Special Needs dogs posted on our site. They generally require a little more time, love, or money.
